An HOUR In CREATIVE SANCTUARY

A Grounded Hour to Create: Guided Co-Working on a Creative Project (Any Discipline)

What Should I Expect in an Hour of Creative Sanctuary?

An Hour of Creative Sanctuary isn’t a class or a performance — it’s a gentle, focused space where we do the work of making art and tending to our creative selves. But what happens in that hour?

As the name suggests, this is all about creative expression. It’s a 60-minute online gathering designed to help you make meaningful creative progress — whether that’s writing, painting, songwriting, journaling, or dreaming up your next big idea. No prep needed. Just bring yourself, your project, and something to work with (a journal, sketchpad, laptop, etc.). You’ll be welcomed into a warm, no-pressure space where you can finally carve out time for your creative voice.

The First 10 Minutes:

When you join an Hour of Creative Sanctuary, you’ll be warmly welcomed into a calm and supportive Zoom space. We begin with a brief grounding — usually a short somatic check-in, gentle breathwork, or mindfulness practice — to help you land in your body and the present moment.

We then invite each participant to set an intention for their creative time. What will you work on today? What’s calling for attention? You can share in the chat or just hold it silently. The goal is simple: create sacred space, shake off distractions, and gently commit to doing what matters to you.

The Next 45 Minutes:

This is our creative co-working block. Everyone mutes, cameras stay on or off (your choice), and we dive into our own creative work — together.

You might be sketching, writing, brainstorming, collaging, painting, editing, or simply sitting in creative stillness. This is time for you, held within a shared field of focus, inspiration, and accountability. We’re here to work side-by-side in quiet support — no comparing, no pressure, just presence.

In the Zoom chat, feel free to check in, cheer each other on, or ask a question — I will be your creative facilitator always there to offer encouragement or help you gently through creative resistance.

The Final 5 Minutes:

We close with a moment of reflection. What came through for you? What did you notice or complete? You can share in the chat or simply sit with your experience. It’s a grounding, affirming way to mark the progress you made.

Sometimes we do a fun (optional!) group play exercise, sometimes we simply do two minutes of mindfulness together. Either way, we wrap on time — so you can get back to your day feeling a little more anchored, a little more you.

The Community:

We are artists, makers, writers, dreamers — people who care about showing up for our creativity even when life is stressful, overwhelming, and not perfectly lined up for our creativity. If you come regularly, you’ll start to see familiar faces and feel the gentle rhythm of making progress on your work one tiny step at a time together with like-minded folks.

These sessions are drop-in friendly and suitable for beginners. You don’t need to be a “real artist.” You just need to want to make something and want more connection to your creative soul.

Cameras on if possible, kindness always. You’ll find creative companionship here — and a little structure to help you honor your inner voice.

I hope to see you soon in the sanctuary!
