“Lower the stakes. It’s a beginning. Complete the work so you can move on.” — Rick Rubin
“Support growth through curiosity and structure, not judgment.” — Liz Lerman’s CRP

The Creative Rhythms Circle is a gentle creative incubator. It supports members from the tiny first step of creation through to sharing and receiving feedback, in a nonjudgmental, playful, community-based rhythm.

🌱 1. Foundation: Core Values

  • Small Steps: Progress through micro-commitments

  • Playful Creativity: Lighthearted, curious engagement

  • Supportive Witnessing: Encouragement over critique

  • Process over Perfection: Done is better than perfect

  • Rhythm, Not Urgency: Sustainable creative flow

🔄 2. Membership Structure

A. Format

  • Monthly Themes: One simple theme or creative prompt per month

  • Weekly Touchpoints: Optional guided activities, group check-ins

  • Community Forum/Platform: Private group space (Mighty Networks, Circle, Slack)

  • Live Monthly Gathering: Zoom-based play session + sharing circle

B. Member Journey

Each month flows through the same supportive rhythm:

Week 1: Spark

  • Prompt + playful “tiny creative act” challenge

  • Mindset support: Lower the stakes, begin anywhere

  • Journaling + visualization session

Week 2: Make

  • Gentle studio time: A 30-minute “create-with-me” session

  • Optional co-working times

  • Mid-month check-in post or video prompt

Week 3: Reflect + Share

  • Share your work-in-progress (WIP) with the group (not for critique)

  • Use Liz Lerman’s CRP Steps:

    1. Artist shares the work & states what kind of feedback they’d like

    2. Responders describe what they notice

    3. Artist asks questions

    4. Responders ask permission to offer opinions

Week 4: Celebrate + Release

  • Group reflection: “What did I learn?”

  • Letting go ritual: Move on, no attachment

  • Celebrate completion (no matter how small)

Three individuals gather around a laptop on a small round table in an office or meeting space. One person is sitting and looking at the laptop screen, while the other two stand nearby, also focused on the laptop. There are minimalist furnishings, a tall plant, and categorically divided colored wall panels in the background.
